A special call out to Aaron Schildkrout & Brian Schechter and HowAboutWe.com
I've had the following idea for years, but I've never been in a position to do anything with it. The reason is I never had any kind of public influence. (Not that I'm Gary Vaynerchuk or anything.) What I'm about to describe won't work without being able to get the word out and it's difficult to get the word out if you're a nobody in the eyes of the public.
With that little disclaimer out of the way, the idea is called 30 Dates In 30 Nights (which will be at 30datesin30nights.com).
The Project
Using HowAboutWe.com as the platform and title sponsor, go on 30 dates in 30 nights in 30 different cities beginning October 1, 2011 and ending October 30, 2011. Bonus: I'm 30 years old. 30/30/30/30/30. I like numbers. :)
Why HowAboutWe.com?
Because their platform is so innovative, simple, and fun. Girls can suggest dates to go on, as in "How about we go on a ghost tour of Chicago?" And I can suggest dates as well, such as "How about we go on a free fall jump in Dallas?"
Why should HowAboutMe.com partner with me?
Not to be an ego maniac (I'm not), but I'm not a loser, I'm a nice, successful guy, and people like me. :) Additionally, I'm an action taker who actually makes events like these (rollercoastertour.com, for example) happen.
What's in it for HowAboutWe?
Events like these get press. It will be easy to get in newspapers and local TV, and possibly national TV, to spread the word about the project, which will spread the word about HowAboutWe.com.
What's in it for the girls I go on dates with?
The opportunity to go on an extraordinary date with a nice guy with no pressure beyond "let's have fun!"
What's in it for me?
Besides going out with 30 pretty girls in 30 nights? I'll get to travel to 30 cities, spread the word about a website I believe in, and be part of another fun event. Also, who knows, maybe I'll find the girl of my dreams. :)
Why am I posting this so far in advance?
There's still 3 weeks before I begin my 3 month roller coaster tour and I'm already planning another event? What gives? Well, I know things like this take time. If there's one thing I'd change about Roller Coaster Tour it's that I would have started the website or at least publicly talked about it 3 months earlier.
